چکیده

In this problem Z0 is a convex closed subset of a Banach spaceZ , and G and H are continuous operators from Z to the space of integrable random variables L1(Ω,F , P). The random variable Y plays the role of a benchmark outcome. For example, one may set Y = G(z̄), where z̄ ∈ Z0 is some reasonable value of the decision vector, which is currently employed in the system. The relation (2) is the stochastic dominance relation of the second order. It is defined as follows: A random variable X dominates another random variable Y in the second order, if

Electricity Procurement for Large Consumers with Second Order Stochastic Dominance Constraints

This paper presents a decision making approach for mid-term scheduling of large industrial consumers based on the recently introduced class of Stochastic Dominance (SD)- constrained stochastic programming. In this study, the electricity price in the pool as well as the rate of availability (unavailability) of the generating unit (forced outage rate) is considered as uncertain parameters. Th...

Stochastic Dominance-Constrained Markov Decision Processes

We are interested in risk constraints for infinite horizon discrete time Markov decision processes (MDPs). Starting with average reward MDPs, we show that increasing concave stochastic dominance constraints on the empirical distribution of reward lead to linear constraints on occupation measures. An optimal policy for the resulting class of dominance-constrained MDPs is obtained by solving a li...

Cut generation for optimization problems with multivariate risk constraints

We consider a class of multicriteria stochastic optimization problems that features benchmarking constraints based on conditional value-at-risk and second-order stochastic dominance. We develop alternative mixedinteger programming formulations and solution methods for cut generation problems arising in optimization under such multivariate risk constraints. We give the complete linear descriptio...

Optimization with Multivariate Conditional Value-at-Risk Constraints

For many decision making problems under uncertainty, it is crucial to develop risk-averse models and specify the decision makers’ risk preferences based on multiple stochastic performance measures (or criteria). Incorporating such multivariate preference rules into optimization models is a fairly recent research area. Existing studies focus on extending univariate stochastic dominance rules to ...

Lipschitzian Properties and Stability of a Class of First-Order Stochastic Dominance Constraints

Considering first-order stochastic dominance constraints for random variables arising as optimal values of stochastic programs with linear recourse, verifiable sufficient conditions for metric regularity are presented. A growth condition developed in [22] has a crucial role in the analysis of the present paper. Implications regarding stability and sensitivity of optimal values and optimal solut...
